I created this little matchbook (Fusion by Basic Grey) to showcase photographs that I took of some sunflowers - bought off the side of the road the other day. The flowers were amazing in color, but for this assignment, I converted them to b&w. I love the detail.
Lately, I've been stifled with my creativity and I am guessing it might have something to do with the stress!?! We are moving again and this is the first with all four little ones and one in school. However, today has been wonderful. I felt inspired and decided to play with some of the photographs in PS & I've been meaning to do something with my little matchbook from BG.
I miss the fine arts and I love scrapbooking and lately I'm trying to marry the two together. I'm totally inspired by altered journals and finally went a bought a new journal to alter. I can't wait to get my hands dirty and covered with paint or medium or something. I am one of the artists who likes to become one with her art - especially the supplies. grin....
Inspiration for me can be so overwhelming that I don't know what or how to express what's going on in my head. Visuals circle around and I literally feel like I've been on a merry-go-round spinning out of control. Sometimes it's little things that inspire me... everyday things... like my grandmother's old Fire King milk glass nesting bowls in bright red, green, blue and yellow or a home magazine like Country Living and even better the way the sunlight peers through the blinds in the morning.
I love that I am finally back in touch with my inner self. There for a while I thought I had lost her - that little girl who likes to play - create, draw and paint and just be silly. That in itself is another whole entry; but staying in tune with who I am and what gets me jazzed - the two help keep me on the right road to being inspired and loving my creative nature.
Well... I have rambled on enough. I hope that these pics are inspiring and provoke some inspiration and/or emotion for that's what it is all about. Creating and sharing.
