for adults...
chip and i watched the reader last night. compelling. disturbing. emotional.
on friday and saturday evening, we watched the majority of true blood's first season. we're waiting on the last disc to arrive tonight. it has the last episodes on it. glad i read the books first. don't get me wrong, the series that airs on HBO is a tragic delightful portrayal of the book. basically, loving it. for the most part, it follows the story line. not sure why they added some things though. they added a lot more to tara's character like a relationship with sam and gave jason a bad v obsession - neither in the book. however, i was glued to the tele and anxious to see what was going to happen next. and, anna paquin does a magnificent job of portraying sookie. loving bill compton... i mean stephen moyer. (wink) love the way he says "sookie".
only 12 more days until the 2nd season airs on HBO. go see true blood.

for the kiddos...
i recommend two movies. we saw both a couple of weeks ago, but i forgot to write about them here.
coraline. i loved, loved, loved this movie. we took the kiddos to see it at the base theater. our kiddos are 10, 8, 6 and 4. it was a bit scary for my 4 year old. had i known it was that dark, i would have found a sitter for her. after the movie was over, she said "that was creepy". but she said she liked it too. the movie, the story line, the animation was fantasical. i know - not a word but it was that kind of made-up world. my latest inspiration, my latest little obsession... this movie.
for funny, lighted hearted, make you laugh so hard you pee in your pants kind of movie, you must see bedtime stories. adam sandler, who plays skeeter, is one of my favorite comedic actors and he didn't let us down here. so funny. the kiddos LOVED this one. all thumbs up.
